Springtime Glow: 5 Tips for Radiant Skin

Springtime is right around the corner so you know what that means—finally more sun! And with more sunlight, it’s only right your skin looks bright and clear as well. So, here are a few tips to get that radiant skin that beams like sun-rays.

  1. Cleansing is probably one of the most important steps.

This includes not letting yourself sleep in makeup (NEVER a good idea) at night and actually having a skincare routine. Learn what kind of skin you have so you can attain the right kind of cleanser for it. Make sure you’re doing this at least twice a day and follow up with the rest of your routine.

  2. Exfoliation is all about getting the old skin out so the new skin can come through.

With that, take a gander at some natural mild exfoliators such as glycolic or lactic acid. There are some homemade recipes for salt or sugar scrubs as well that can do the job.  Make sure you’re exfoliating your entire body, not just your face. We want that glow from head to toe.

  3. Vitamins and antioxidants are very helpful to the radiant skin movement as well.

They’re anti-inflammatory and give your skin the nutrients to heal and grow beautifully. When selecting skin care products, make sure you include vitamin C, D, E (as mixed tocopherols), A and beta-carotene. These can also be found in certain foods.

  4. Speaking of food, let’s get into that diet!

Your diet should include a variety of colorful greens and vegetables. Brightly colored veggies and fruit have different gifts in helping with your body’s composition, which will eventually show in your skin. Water is part of the diet as well, so please drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.

  5. Here’s a tip that most people forget: REST.

Do not listen to those who say that you can’t be successful unless you’re missing out on sleep. You literally need sleep to do anything and EVERYTHING. Getting an adequate amount of rest aids in healing and detoxifying the body as well.  You don’t want those baggy dark circles under the eyes or your skin looking malnourished. It’s called BEAUTY rest for a reason!

BONUS!

Last but certainly not least, we love the sun but it doesn’t love us sometimes so SPF is very essential.  Everyone likes to get into the sunlight and bask in the rays but it can be very dangerous without protection.  Invest in a SPF of at least 15 (30 preferably) to wear every day, even when it’s cold or cloudy out. Your skin needs protection all year round, so make sure your Skin Soldiers don’t have to work too hard with the right routine ending in sunscreen.

With these tips and just consistency with loving on yourself and your skin, the results will definitely result in beautifully radiant skin to shine all year round.  Glow baby, GLOW!
