5 Best DIY Spa Treatments to Make At Home
1. Moisturizing Avocado Face Mask
Here’s a great moisturizing and soothing face mask, perfect for this time of year. It is nourishing and replenishing mixture is suitable for all skin types, but dry and sensitive skin will love it the most.
You will need:
1 tablespoon mashed avocado
1 teaspoon raw honey
1 teaspoon finely ground rolled oats
How to make it:
Mash the avocado until you get rid of all lumps. Add all other ingredients and mix well. If your mixture is too thick, add a teaspoon of any skin-friendly natural oil you have on hand.
Apply the mask to a clean face and leave it on for around 15 minutes. Wipe the residue off, wash your face and apply your face moisturizer.
2. Natural Nail Strength and Growth Treatment
If your nails need some help to be healthy and strong, here’s a perfect natural solution. Plant oils nourish the nails, moisturize them and reduce breakage, while orange provides vitamin C and folic acid.
You will need:
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
How to make it:
Warm up the coconut oil until it melts. Add the olive oil, mix and remove from the heat. Finally, add the freshly squeezed orange juice and orange zest and mix everything well together.
Make sure to use the treatment while it is still warm, but ensure it is not too hot. No one likes burnt fingertips. All you have to do is soak your nails in it for around 10 minutes, then wash it off and apply a hand cream.
3. Relaxing Oatmeal and Himalayan Salt Bath
It doesn’t get more relaxing than a nice, warm bath. This one is also great for the skin, as the Himalayan salt is cleansing and full of minerals, while organic oatmeal is hydrating and overflowing with anti-inflammatory properties.
You will need:
½ cup finely ground organic rolled oats
½ cup Himalayan salt
¼ cup dried flowers (rose, lavender, chamomile)
How to make it:
All you have to do is mix all ingredients (dried flowers is an optional addition) and add them to a tub of warm water. Then, simply sink in and relax.
4. Simple DIY Peppermint Foot Scrub
Though our feet need a lot of nourishment, we often tend to neglect them. Here’s a perfect way to give them some love they deserve and get rid of all the dead, dry skin:
You will need:
½ cup fine Himalayan salt
½ cup regular sea salt
1/3 – 1/2 cup coconut oil
5 – 10 drops peppermint essential oil
How to make it:
Melt the coconut oil. In a separate bowl mix the Himalayan and regular sea salt. Add coconut oil and mix well. Top it off with peppermint essential oil and stir.
Gently massage and exfoliate your feet with the mixture, then wash off and apply a moisturizer. You can store the rest of the scrub in a clean glass jar, keeping it in a cool, dry place.
5. Hot Oil Hair Treatment
In the end, take some time to nourish your hair as well. You will especially love this treatment if your hair is dry, frizzy or damaged.
You will need:
2 tablespoons coconut oil
3 tablespoons olive oil

How to make it:
Warm up the oils in a double boiler. The mixture should be warm but not too hot. Massage it into your scalp and hair. Leave in 30 minutes, then wash your hair as you normally would.
